Artist's Statement

I was born and raised in North Kent but have lived in West Norfolk for nearly 10 years now. I have always had a love of art and drawing ever since I was a child, particularly when it comes to drawing animals. I stopped drawing for several years after completing my A-Level Art studies to focus on my career in management at work, but decided to take up art again after feeling that I needed to focus on something in life that I truly loved doing. I went back to college to study pet portraiture and develop new skills and achieved a diploma with distinction. This really gave me the push that I needed to pursue my love of painting and drawing animals further, so in 2016 I started my own Pet Portrait Business and have never looked back! I love capturing the expression of animals especially in the eyes, and creating texture with different medias.

My style of work is realistic, and I like to use a variety of media, my favourites being pencil, coloured pencil, pastels and acrylics. I have however recently been creating some colourful watercolour wildlife paintings in a looser and more expressive style, which has been lots of fun!
