Artist's Statement
Norfolk born and bred, I studied Art and Design at Bradford College. I then worked locally as a freelance graphic designer and paste up artist followed by a number of years as an art and AV technician in a secondary school. It was here that I began to learn Photoshop, Indesign and Illustrator and began to experiment with my digital images.
My work method is fairly random and often when I start with an image I really don’t know what the end result will be. My main interest is in taking an image, making many selections and layers, then adding different textures, palettes and layer styles. Subject matter is often close to hand; flowers in my garden, a full moon photographed from my back garden or a local steam rally. Visits to Bruges and Aberystwyth have also given me images to work with. All my work is printed on inkjet paper using long lasting pigment inks.
It is only very recently that I have exhibited any of my work and I have been very encouraged by the positive comments received. I hope that being a member of WNAA will allow my work to reach a wider audience and I really do encourage any comments through my website.
