Sam Pointer - Painter

"Cars, nudes, & dogs what more could a man ask for!" A quote left in my visitors book at "Curves and Chrome, The Exhibition", Gresham's School, Holt, Norfolk.

Originally from Cambridgeshire, I have been involved with art from an early age, with both my Father and Grandfather being artists. Having left Art colleges in Cambridgeshire and Suffolk with a Diploma in Art & Ceramics, I have developed my own individual style. My love of animals and the human form, and a life working with exotic and interesting cars have inspired my portrayal of pet and life studies in pastel and classic cars in oils. I work from my studio in Norfolk producing artwork for a number of clients and have exhibited in venues across Norfolk, Cambridgeshire and London ( Royal College of Art).

My work has been shortlisted for the 2007 Royal Academy of Art Summer Exhibition in London (" Bentley Boy" - oil on canvas) and for the Eastern Open 08 in King's Lynn, Norfolk ( "Adam" - compressed charcoal on paper). Most recently my work was Selected for the Norwich Castle Open Art Show ( "Jagged Edge" - oil on canvas).
