Mari FrenchPainterOriginally from Manchester, Mari moved to the Isle of Skye in 1995 where she lived until moving to Norfolk in 2009. She worked as a graphic designer for many years, with illustration - both traditional and digital - often forming part of her work. Fulfilling a lifelong ambition Mari now works full-time as a professional contemporary artist in acrylics and mixed media. Light and atmospherics play a strong part in Mari's finished pieces - abstracted acrylics/mixed media works mainly inspired by the landscape of Norfolk farmland and coast. The build-up of complex layers and textures and the exposure of under-painting add to the visual intensity experienced by the viewer. Mari, who has won two Highland contemporary art prizes, exhibits and sells her work from her home studio and from galleries throughout the UK. Her work is held in private collections around the UK, and in Europe and the USA. A selection of Mari's work can be seen at Burnham Grapevine Gallery, Burnham Market; Arterie Gallery, Cromer and at www.marifrench.com Selected Exhibitions An Tuireann Arts Centre, Isle of Skye (group) Member: NCAS (Norfolk Contemporary Art Society); Artspace North Norfolk; WNAA (West Norfolk Artists Association) Contact this WNAA memberStudio: Mari French Contemporary Artworks Tel: 01485 520116 Email: info@marifrench.com Website: www.marifrench.com Blog: marifrench.wordpress.com |
