Artist's Statement

When looking for a new focus in life I went back to College to study Art & Design. I loved learning new skills like lino cutting, etching and printmaking, and when I received The Adult Student of The Year Award for Creative Arts, I decided that art is what I would like to do for the rest of my life.

I find my inspiration in the natural environment around me. I am fascinated by flowers, their magnificent forms and colours, and I have been refining my skills in botanical art. Sometimes I will study my chosen subject for days, or paint on impulse, observing and outlining shapes and patterns. For me nature holds an endless supply of inspiration.
