Walking at Burnham Overy Staithe
Oil on canvas 16 x 20ins.
Elizabeth Inger lives and creates in north west Norfolk. Beth has an impressive body of work spanning over three decades. Originally trained in the applied arts (B.A.Hons Textile Design, Nottingham Trent University), Beth specialised in weave and focussed heavily on environmentally-friendly and sustainable design, at a time when those ideas were not widely held. Her woven textile art has been exhibited internationally. Beth’s paintings reflect her strengths from the discipline of weaving, with colour, texture and form taking centre stage. Beth’s work is inspired by the natural landscape, the North Norfolk coast and the big Norfolk skies punctuated with unexpected colours. Beth also enjoys abstract expressionism, constructivism, cubism, the bold shapes and colours of Sonia Delaunay and early landscape or flowers work by Piet Mondriaan.
