Lyn Sandford - Potter

White stoneware pottery with blue Chinese brushwork by Lyn Sandford.

Lyn Sandford is a studio potter who has been making functional and decorative stoneware pottery in the West Norfolk area for over twenty-five years.

Her work is based on her own designs and has been tested and complies with BS6748:1986 for safety.
Working with naturally occurring minerals and metal oxides, she has now developed several different coloured glazes, but is still known mainly for her white-glazed stoneware, which she hand-paints with blue Chinese brushwork.
Being an animal lover, much of her work bears miniature fun-sized replicas of animals modeled in clay.
Lyn fires her stoneware pottery to a temperature of 1200C and fires her terracotta pottery to 1100C.

Lyn Sandford's work can be seen and bought at Le Strange Old Barns Arts & Crafts Centre in Old Hunstanton, Norfolk.
She has taken part in exhibitions in Denmark, London and East Anglia. As a member of the Anglian Potters association, her pottery is exhibited twice yearly in Cambridge.
In 2009, Lyn will be taking part in Norfolk Open studios, from the 16th to the 31st May.
