Gerald Marsland - Painter

A former civil servant, Gerald has been painting seriously for over 20 years and was able to turn professional in 2003. He is self-taught and his style is traditional, embracing elements of Impressionism, Romanticism and Realism. His approach to landscape is to capture unaffected representations taken from nature, embodying the transient moments of light, shadow and reflection. His preferred medium is oil.

Gerald featured in the ITV series "Coastal Inspirations" and has been interviewed on BBC Radio Norfolk.

Recent awards:
"Best Painting" in the 2004 Eastern Open (selected by Professor Graham Crowley)
