Joy made the decision to study Fine Art after a successful career in the Design Industry and as a Lecturer in Textile & Fashion Design.  

During these years drawing and illustration were always a passion whilst her love of fine detail enhances her printwork.

She shows a visible delight in celebrating the intrinsic beauty of nature.

Painting however offers a freedom and immediacy; sweeps of colour and tone convey structure and emotion.

Oil painting is her first love but watercolour and acrylic offer speed.  Whatever the medium, texture is an important aspect of her work.
